A Success Story: PGR
Initiating its manufacturing operations within Polat Makina in 1998, Polat Group Redüktör (PGR) gained separate legal entity status in 2004 following rapid growth and development. Today, it maintains its market dominance as Turkey’s largest gearbox manufacturer. Olcay Polat, Board Member of Polat Group, shared the success story of PGR with us.

Emphasizing that PGR expands its capacity year after year, Polat shares: “Our company operates with an annual production capacity of 250,000 gear units at the Astim Industrial Zone with a 15,000 m² main facility, a 20,000 m² assembly plant in the Aydın Umurlu Industrial Zone, approximately 300 employees, branch offices in Ankara and Istanbul, an extensive domestic and international dealer network, and our PGR GmbH assembly plant established across 5,000 m² in Germany.”
Highlighting that PGR serves various sectors directly or indirectly—including automotive, maritime, aviation, construction, HVAC, energy, petrochemicals, defense, textiles, and food—Polat explains: “Today, PGR gearboxes and technical support leave an indelible mark across the world’s leading automotive plants, airports, bridges, stadiums, steel structures, skyscrapers, wind turbines, and virtually every industrial domain.”

Noting that 2017 was a highly productive year for PGR, Polat concludes: “To meet surging demand, we commissioned our new factory in 2017. We executed capital investments in fixed assets, particularly in machinery and equipment, driven by both modernization needs and capacity expansions. In 2018, we will continue all necessary fixed asset investments—primarily in machinery and equipment—aimed at both modernization and capacity enlargement.”
