Olive Oil Plant Operators Gathered at Polat Makina!
Representing Turkey across more than 45 countries with machinery manufactured using domestic technology, Polat Makina continues to translate its mission of cultivating a skilled workforce for the olive oil sector into tangible field action. At its manufacturing facility in Aydın, the company hosted over 50 olive oil producers, plant operators, and farmers during the 2nd Olive Oil Plant Operator Training Program.
Operating as a subsidiary of Polat Group Holding—which encompasses 13 group companies, including 4 international entities—Polat Makina maintains its training series to support the sustainable future of the olive oil industry. Following high acclaim for its inaugural session held on World Olive Tree Day (November 26, 2025, as designated by UNESCO), the program was organized for a second time on April 29, 2026, in response to overwhelming industry demand.
Comprehensive Training Bridging Theory and Practice
The day-long training curriculum covered a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from plant setup and financing resources to technical operational workflows and preventive maintenance.
In hands-on sessions, participants gained direct experience in separator disassembly and assembly operations, while a guided factory tour and showroom visit allowed them to inspect Polat Makina’s advanced manufacturing technologies firsthand. The training concluded with a live, on-site olive pressing demonstration.
Participants engaged enthusiastically in an olive oil tasting workshop led by sensory expert Abidin Tatlı. Additionally, Arzu Akar (Aydın Provincial Coordinator of ARDSI / TKDK) and Ayhan Temiz (Aydın Provincial Director of Agriculture) attended the event to brief attendees on government agricultural grants and regional regulatory developments.
Volkan Polat: “We Aim to Pass the Value of These Lands Across Generations”
Volkan Polat, Deputy Chairman of the Board at Polat Makina, evaluated the training initiative:
“Under our core philosophy of ‘Engineering for You,’ Polat Makina delivers state-of-the-art machinery to our olive oil producers. However, even the most advanced technology gains true value through the skilled hands operating it. In these lands, olives represent far more than an agricultural commodity—they are an ancestral heritage and a deeply rooted culture. Preserving this legacy requires entrusting it to highly capable hands. Through our training programs, we aim to empower our industry and ensure this heritage is successfully passed down to future generations.”
Polat Makina plans to continuously expand its educational initiatives and operator qualification programs to support the sustainable advancement of the global olive oil industry.
